ELMHURST – The St. Charles North girls volleyball team won a dramatic, season-opening contest Tuesday at York, 27-29, 25-13, 27-25.
“They could have chosen to freak out and play less aggressive [when it was close at the end] but they chose to stay aggressive and they pulled it out, so I was really proud of them,” Hawkins said.
Taylor Krage (nine kills), Claire Anderson (six kills, four blocks), Emily Carroll (six blocks, three aces) and Taryn Dal Degan (13 assists) were among the North Stars’ main contributors.
