Prep roundup: St. Charles North girls volleyball wins opener in 3

ELMHURST – The St. Charles North girls volleyball team won a dramatic, season-opening contest Tuesday at York, 27-29, 25-13, 27-25.
North coach Lindsey Hawkins credited strong serving from libero Alex Seavey (11 digs) among a host of factors in North pulling out the close win.
“They could have chosen to freak out and play less aggressive [when it was close at the end] but they chose to stay aggressive and they pulled it out, so I was really proud of them,” Hawkins said.
Taylor Krage (nine kills), Claire Anderson (six kills, four blocks), Emily Carroll (six blocks, three aces) and Taryn Dal Degan (13 assists) were among the North Stars’ main contributors.
